Perfectionism, Being Right and Light – Lessons from the Moon – Picture to Ponder – v7-issue38

by Sheila Finkelstein on September 26, 2011

Today’s Picture to Ponder photos certainly seem like a strange mix. At least they do on this end. I’ve been sitting on several moon photos for over a week, thinking I’d feature them in the last issue.

With a few possible queries and themes fighting each other in my head, I let it go and focused on the “light” message. Thus featured today are one of the moon photos and the glistening, sunlit golden water just past sunrise at the beach. New video clips also resulted.

To simplify this issue of Picture to Ponder, I posted the story of the moon on the blog, including the photographic processes and my discoveries. There you will see other full moon photos, including a brilliant orange one that I love, and Self-Reflecting Queries around “perfection”. See “Lessons From The Moon.”  Then clicking on the surf photo below will take you to a video of the waves gently washing in and rolling back on the surf.

Lastly before going further, if you are one who is an Internet Marketer, or interested in being one/learning more, be sure to check out the info after the SRQs on David Perdew’s new MyNAMS Membership program.

Today’s Picture to Ponder Photos –

The moon in the top photo is one I chased and finally got the colors and textures I wanted by going to the beach, then using the Flash, rarely used, on my camera. Again the experience and several more moon photos are on the blog at Moon Light Story.

The lower photo is sunlit surf, shortly after the sun rose above the clouds. Clicking on it will allow you to experience the Glistening Surf on video. The wind is loud AND, if you lower your volume and listen, you will be able to hear the waves.

If you are one who wishes to feel fully present and perhaps meditate as you are sitting or standing at the water’s edge, click on the symbol on the bottom right of the YouTube image online to have the video full-size on your monitor screen.

You can also see the full landscape – water and sky – at Sun Has Risen.

Self-Reflecting Queries –
Though it certainly doesn’t look it, today’s issue of Picture to Ponder took hours to produce, not including the “dwelling-on-it” time – photo selection, video watching, and more.

A good portion of this comes from my drive for perfection in certain areas, wanting the “just right” photos and messages for you. In the Moon Story on the blog I discuss how I search for it in photographing the textures of full moons, and still not being satisfied, always looking for more or better.

On the special post on the blog earlier today, I added the following SRQ’s:

“I invite you to look into your life. Is there a place, or are there places, where you keep chasing “perfection”, where something you did was not “good enough?”

And, if you found that, what is the light you can shine on it to keep the memories and reminders of your successes and strengths there for you?”

I repeat those queries here, for those who choose not to go to that post.

And, as I write, I’m wondering what measures of satisfaction I can put in place for myself. What about you? Do you have those listed or might they be worth considering now?

Have fun, and, again, please share on the blog your experience with these photos and what comes up for you.
