Path, Focus and Barriers – Light and Shadows – Picture to Ponder – v7-issue14

by Sheila Finkelstein on April 6, 2011

The photographs featured in today’s Picture to Ponder were taken near the end of the day in Green Cay Wetlands. Given that “light and shadows” were the subject of the final in-between sessions of the last Through and From The Lens course, the views below caught my attention.

Combined with my moving in a new direction, the following “ponders” occurred.

Today’s Photos and Self-Reflecting Queries combined –

concrete path in Green Cay Wetlands preserve

As you travel your path, is your focus on the path or on the light in the, perhaps far, distance?

path and bench in Green Cay Wetlands

Does the light on the bench invite you to pause on your journey? Shortcut it?

gate at end of path at Green Cay Wetlands

When you reach a barrier, in this case the fence, will you stop or will you focus on the light and green beyond?

path full expanse at Green Cay Wetlands

If you’ve stopped, might it help to step back and back to see the full, broader view? Breathing it all in, you may see some things along the way you missed.

As always, have fun, and please share in the COMMENTS below what comes up for you.  Where are you on your life and/or career journey?

So REFRESHING to get up before dawn and greet each new day. To marvel at the sheer MAGIC life brings me each morning, always painting a brand new, original work of art upon the landscape which ONLY I can see through My Unique perceptions. Words are so limiting to express the experience of sheer deep immense GRATITUDE flowing through every cell of my Being transported into your photographs… Nature calling me back home into the Present Moment, the ONLY place life happens. Such beauty and joy to be had here, only IF, I open myself up fully, to become Vulnerable, to be naked and expose every cell of my Being so that life can Paint itself upon the canvas of my life, my visions, my depth and my own Beauty reflecting in all I see and experience. Oh to learn to treasure myself as the work of art I truly am when I realize the utter beauty and breathtaking scenes I behold are merely God holding up a mirror so I can behold the treasure of myself as well.

Thank you Sheila for the beautiful, endless reminders! Morgine
