To compensate for being way behind this week, I am simply sending out Picture to Ponder with photos for possible respite.
The other morning I went out to Boynton Beach to be with and photograph sunrise. While there I patiently video recorded five minutes of the quiet ocean, rising sun, ultimately reflecting in waves and surf approaching me.
Then to my surprise the iPhone application I used to record the scene did not pick up the sound and it compressed the five minutes to 58 seconds. If you wish to check it out, see Boynton Beach Sunrise Video
In the meantime, following are the three pictures that kept “popping out” of my photo folder, requesting that they be shown here.

If you are in a business and looking to learn more about how Social Media can impact your business, I invite you to consider my friend Ellen Britt’s second annual, Ice Cream Social Media sale. It includes 13 different programs, covering the wide spectrum of all the different ways you can use the full gamut of the web and social media to your advantage.
More information follows the SRQs, or go directly to Social Media Sale see all that’s available at an the incredible value.
For this posting, I looked for what photos might go along with the spirit of Ellen’s package title. Given I do not have any ice cream photos, I went with the following two. Further explanations are below the photos.

If you read the last Picture to Ponder post, you’ll most like recall my fascination with the unfolding of two interlocked, wood-like, seed pods that got totally flat after soaking in water.
One of the photos showed the pods starting to curl up. I put them back in water until my grandsons came, so together we could watch changes that might come.
The bottom line end result is that the two pods, with one ultimately placed on top of the other, became intertwined and totally circled back onto themselves into one unit.
The whole process took less than a half a day. I’ve posted the photographs below and seven others on a Pods Circling page for you to see the changes. If you are a writer, there are some interesting images on the latter page that I think would be great for journaling or creative story writing.

My older son and two grandsons are visiting this week, so today’s Picture to Ponder is late and will mainly be the photographs and story documenting discovering and transformation. The Queries are brief and might be profound for some of you.

A quick reminder before deadline to check out the full book, flip-through-the-pages, preview of PICTURES TO PONDER: INSPIRED JOURNALING Flowers Book 1. After this Friday, July 15th, the number of pages in the preview will be reduced and the price for the download will revert to its original. See below (under SRQs) for more details or click on the flower image here.
Moving from flowers to wood, water and lines -Â I started saying “textures” and realized flowers have textures also. The photos below are in reverse order from the way they were shot. It’s the top image that kept saying it wanted to be the featured one today.

Today’s Picture to Ponder will be brief. I am on an extra-tight schedule and yet feel the commitment to get out the weekly issue of Picture to Ponder. Have a great and inspiring weekend.

From time to time in Picture to Ponder, I’ve mentioned being in a weekly writing group where we each write for four minutes on prompts from quotes. On occasion we’ll use one of my photographs. It’s amazing what can be written in that short amount of time. Yesterday, I came across something I wrote a few weeks ago and thought it would be a great for today’s issue of Picture to Ponder.
“You are the laboratory and every day is the experiment. Go and find what is new and unexpected.” Joel Elkes.
My response follows
Today’s Picture to Ponder Photo, a dramatic, surprise discovery which brought me joy.

Today’s photos were taken with my iPhone. Each was enhanced with one or two iPhone FX Photo Studio applications, along with slight Photoshop Elements touch-ups.

Before checking to see what the subjects are, if you are not sure, please take a moment or two to simply be with them, noticing what, if anything, appeals to you. [click to continue…]

Fairly early this morning, my attention was caught by dew drops caught in the plantlets of a mother-of-millions plant. Given the photographs I took were not that aesthetically pleasing I went looking for other “dew-drop” photo opportunities. (Note – If you wish, you can see the plant on M-O-M Plant.)
The drops on the banana plant leaf shown below caught my eye. Looking at the photograph after I downloaded it into my computer brought, and brings, me peace. I thus decided to feature it in this issue of Picture to Ponder.
I’m wondering, “Do you get a similar feeling?”

Once again, “shifting perspectives” is the theme that came up from the photographs wanting to be shared today. They photographs were taken while walking in a local nursery. Explanations and comments are directly under each photograph.
